Here are 4 ways to find more time in your week because I don't think the 25 hour day is gonna happen anytime soon.
STOP LOOKING
This means stop wasting time looking for all those things we use regularly. If these things have a home( and it doesn't need to be elaborate- my keys go third stair up from the bottom) we always know where to find them.
Put your keys in the same place every time you come home. Keep all the swim gear together in a bag for swimming lessons. Store kids lunchboxes in the same place every day.
PLAN AHEAD
If you are doing half the job now why not do it all.
When you are putting dinner leftovers away pack them into containers for your lunch at work the next day ( or next week if there are a lot of leftovers) instead of putting them away in the fridge now and then getting them out in the morning and packing into another container.
Keep a bucket at top and bottom of stairs and fill it with the things that need to go to different floors. Taking it up in one trip instead of multiple trips are good for our time if not our buttocks.
USE "WHILE" TIME
They tell us multitasking doesn't work but there are many things that don't require close attention that we can do together.
"while" waiting for my kids to get coats, shoes etc on for going to school I start a load of laundry
" while" commuting I plan my blog post or dinner ideas or argue in my head with my husband ( I always come out right in those ones)
"while" waiting in a carpool lineup I cut out pattern pieces
do you have those brain downtimes? What do you do "while" doing something else?
GROUP YOUR ERRANDS
What stores do you need to visit that are in the same area of town, can you do them all on the same day?
If you need to go to the bank to deposit a check, to the library to drop off books and pickup a parcel from the post office and you do these in separate trips it will certainly take up more time than doing all in one trip in the same area of town. Not to mention the gasoline savings!
If we could save ourselves minutes a day by doing some of these time savers maybe we would find another hour a week! Yipee to a 169 hour week!
